Downs Named NJCAA Player of the Week, Bakare Rookie of the Week

Rutgers-Camden's CJ Downs has been named NJAC Player of the Week, while TCNJ's Khalid Bakare has been named NJAC Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week.

Downs averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in two NJAC games last week. He also had four assists, four caps and three steals. In the win over Stockton University, he had 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one cap. In the loss to Montclair State, he had 22 points and 10 rebounds, his first double-double of the season. He also had three caps, two assists and two steals.

Rookie of the Week

Bakare was outstanding in last week's win over NJIT. He had 14 points and eight rebounds and helped the Lions overcome a seven-point deficit in the final nine minutes of the game. He played 25 minutes, more than double his season-high for minutes played, and shot 5-for-7 from the field. He also had two assists and two steals.
